One Bad Cat Deserves Another
I admit it. I am an unabashed, or maybe abashed, lover of the four-legged creatures called cats. Somehow there has always been one or two skulking around the corners of where ever I have lived. Not all of them have had happy stories.
The images you see here are silver gelatin prints, sometimes hand painted, shot with a medium format Pentax 6X7 camera, They were taken over a period of twenty years around the world on trips to Europe and at Artist’s residencies including the Djerassi Foundation, Yaddo, The Keppelvilla, Schwandorf, Germany and the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, to name a few. Where ever I go I have found cats and felt compelled to record their singular, feline, presence in our world.
What follows are some of their stories.
